SHOT PEENING

It improves the distribution of surface stresses in the material, increasing the fatigue resistance of the treated component.

SHOT PEENING

A particular surface finish

Shot peening is a process similar to blasting, but it is primarily used to improve the surface stress distribution of the material and increase the fatigue strength of the component. The process consists of bombarding the surface of a part at controlled high pressure with shot, that is, small spherical media.

This treatment generates residual compressive stresses on the surface and in the underlying layers, helping to reduce the effect of internal stresses when the component is subjected to load. As a result, the material becomes more resistant to fatigue.

We also carry out ball burnishing treatments. We are equipped with both manual and basket machines.
